ROLE: DESIGN DIRECTOR
ASTRONAUTS SHOW LAUNCH
In the Nickelodeon series Astronauts, 5 teens sneak onto a spaceship and, to their surprise, the ship's artificial intelligence system sends them into space. The children, having no prior experience on a spaceship, have to figure out how to get back to earth safely. It was produced by Imagine Entertainment, founded by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, so the footage was beautifully shot and had a very high production value to it. Needless to say this action packed and suspenseful series based in outer space was a departure from the playful nature of the majority of Nickelodeon’s programing so it was a fun opportunity to make a visual-effects based, sci-fi graphics package to complement the show.
