I am an Emmy Nominated Design Director with a strong background in motion graphics. I have a deep seeded love for design and my creative process is informed by all that is around me.
For 16 years I worked in the Nickelodeon Branding Department. I started out designing and animating. Next as Art Director I was managing many projects at the same time as working with, and honing the skills of the designers and animators. After that as Design Director, I was managing a team of Art Directors, Designers and Animators and also working on all the overarching branding projects for the company. Every project was a collaboration with the Producers, the Programming team and the Marketing Department to ensure everything was created with the complete brand vision in mind.
One of the most involved and meaningful projects I have been worked on during my career was heading up the Nick Rebrand in 2017. It was such a huge undertaking and I learned a ton from the process. I have picked up so much along the way from my Leaders and Colleagues. What I got the most experience doing from my years in the industry was finding the order in the chaos. We often started out with broad concepts and lots of little ideas. The biggest challenge is to select the most relevant pieces and figure out how to weave them together.The best part is the reward at the end: seeing the final product come together in different forms. It is the distillation of the whole creative journey.
After living in NYC for 21 years, I have returned to my native Austin, Texas and am reveling in the wide open blue skies and the multitude of Tex-Mex (and margs too!).
